Hello!
Do you care about the life of the mind, the creative spirit, the connections between human beings, and the natural world? Do you often want to go deeper rather than staying on the surface? Would you like to explore your own creativity and feel supported in doing that? Would you like to find a community of others who feel want to be open and kind, rather than competitive; who are looking for genuine meaning in their lives; who appreciate an atmosphere of quiet spaciousness rather than noise and chaos?
I’ve already been doing this for 20 years
The Cassandra Pages, my original blog, has been going now for two decades. Although social media destroyed a lot of blogs and the communities that had been built through them, I’ve continued, while growing and changing. I’ve tried to embrace the best aspects of social media — ease of connection and sharing — and ignore the clamor and stridency, while continuing to create and host a positive and open space where readers often say they come “for some moments of calmness, sanity, beauty, and wisdom.”
I’m a professional artist, writer, and publisher with many years of experience. Lately I’ve been exploring ways of adding art instruction and creative encouragement to what I do, both online and off. I’m not going to stop blogging at The Cassandra Pages, but would like to mirror the best parts of the blog here, while building a new space in these pages.
My voice is just half of the conversation
You can come here just to read the words and look at the art, but you will also find a receptive place for your thoughts and comments if you want to engage. I try to personally answer all the comments or emails I receive — and I’ve done that during all the years I’ve been online.
Stability You Can Count on
I’ll be posting here at least once a week. There will be writing about the topics mentioned above, there will be a lot of art, and there will be a number of videos and posts about the creative life, about culture and spirit, and the world we all share and inhabit — but you won’t find rants, politics, or negativity. Although I am self-motivated, it has always helped me to write for you, and to know that readers have been encouraged in their own lives and work by what they find here. Best of all are the friendships that have arisen, in spite of distance, and endured. I’m looking forward to meeting you if we don’t already know each other!
