Over the weekend I finished the last pages in my current sketchbook, with the watercolors of artichokes and fruit that are shown below. This particular sketchbook was started back in the fall of 2022, so it spans more than a year -- today, the view out my window is very much like the first page in this video, painted in January 2023, just without the snow.
Beautiful. I love the idea of a visual diary - and there's so much in these pictures - much more than you would get with the photos that come so easily to us with smartphones these days. Thanks for sharing.
Lovely Beth. I felt I was connecting with old friends as you turned the pages. You've captured the sky in its many moods so beautifully and the images of windswept clouds are in delightful contrast to your meticulously detailed sketches of flowers. Thank you for sharing
I feel an excitement when I open a new sketchbook, balanced by my reluctance to spoil this pristine object. Once my sister gave me one for cartooning and drew a little cartoon in the front. It was inspiring; I didn’t hesitate to start drawing. I swore to do more drawing and painting when I retired, but I also came to love the peace of doing nothing, so I must resist inertia to get anything done at all…
I agree with all the other comments - so much more immersive than photos and a few moments of pure calm and contentment as you leaf through the pages. Just beautiful.

This was the most beautiful and peaceful moment of Zen I've had all day. Your sketchbook is glorious. Thanks for sharing it!

is Noodler a type of ink, or a brand. I would buy sone just to say I doodle with a noodler.
